Mang Inasal, the Philippines’ Grill Expert, has been serving mouthwatering Ihaw-Sarap food and Unli-Saya experiences for over 20 years. Mang Inasal, a well-known Filipino fast-food chain, recognized for its grilled chicken and traditional Filipino dishes. Its casual dining setting and unique menu have earned it a loyal following among customers seeking quality and value.

Mang Inasal was started by Edgar "Injap" Sia II (born 1977), who owned his first business at the age of twenty. Sia engaged in the food business at twenty-six years of age, opening the first Mang Inasal branch on December 12, 2003 at the Carpark Building of Robinsons Place Iloilo in Iloilo CityThe restaurant was an instant success, despite stiff competition from other established grilled-food restaurants.

Mang Inasal opened its first branches in the Visayan region, later expanding to Mindanao then to Metro Manila. The company started franchising in 2005; by 2008, it had opened 23 restaurants, with ten being franchised. In 2009, Mang Inasal expanded to over a hundred branches. In October 2010, 70% of Mang Inasal was acquired by Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), for ₱3 billion. JFC acquired in April 2016 the remaining 30% previously belonging to Injap Investment owned by Inasal's founder, folding the roasted chicken and barbecue business into its operations and portfolio. The Sia family remains involved in the business with Ferdinand Sia as its COO.

Mang Inasal's overall menu is a celebration of Filipino comfort food, emphasizing well-grilled meats and satisfying flavors. Their signature inasal, a marinated and char-grilled chickens, stands out for its tender, flavorful profile and is complemented by traditional sides like atchara and vinegar sauce. The pork BBQ and breakfast offerings, such as longganisa and tocino, provide additional tasty options, while their halo-halo dessert offers a refreshing end to the meal. With generous portions and an emphasis on bold flavors, Mang Inasal delivers a consistently enjoyable dining experience that highlights the essence of Filipino cuisine.

The chain's reputation is built on its signature dish, Inasal Chicken, which consistently meets high standards, reflecting Mang Inasal's commitment to authentic flavors. The service model aims to be both efficient and customer-oriented, with generally friendly and attentive staff. However, during peak times, service can become inconsistent, leading to longer waits and occasional order mistakes. Cleanliness is another important factor, and Mang Inasal usually upholds a good standard, though there are occasional lapses. Overall, the dining experience at Mang Inasal is positive, appreciated for its affordability and generous portions. Still, some issues with service delays and varying food quality across branches have been noted.

In conclusion, Mang Inasal has secured its place as a key player in the Filipino fast-food market by offering a distinctive menu and a generally favorable dining experience. While it excels in food quality and value, improvements in service consistency, cleanliness, and standardization could further enhance its reputation and customer satisfaction.
